Karen & Stephen Engaged: Whistler Village Engagement Photographer

When Whistler came up it was an easy decision for Karen & Stephen to have their engagement photos taken there. With the hope for snow we met in Whistler for their session. In true BC form we have a beautiful foggy, and rainy day which made for beautiful photos! We started off at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler away from the rain then headed to the Village for a walk in the rain.

There's something so romantic about umbrellas and the rain, especially pouring rain - it makes cuddling up close with your love so easy to do. When it's raining really hard I love listening to it on the rooftop - It's one of my absolute favourite sounds. As kids I would play in the rain, the mudd, and puddles. I was invincible in the rain.

As we walked the Village Stroll, Karen was wrapped in Stephen's arms. It started raining harder as we walked. I've always wanted to photograph a couple getting absolutely soaked. And I mean dreaming of her hair just drenched by rain. And as I mentioned in my last blog post;

I spent the next hour or so with this amazing couple and was wrapped up in photographing their love. Time stopped for me. We wandered the Village Stroll in the POURING rain and they still were smiling. And all that mattered was the emotion between these two, and excitement for their wedding. The rain only kept pouring harder and it was cold and I asked them - can we lose the umbrellas - are you okay getting wet? They closed their umbrellas and got soaked. Her once curly professionally styled hair drenched in water falling around her face. His jacket littered with rain drops. And nothing mattered because she was wrapped in his arms and they danced, they kissed, they hugged in the rain, in the middle of the square. That was their engagement session, and I was lucky enough to photograph it. Thank You.
