Snow Much Fun! A Vancouver Engagement Wedding Photographer - Soraya & Joel

The call came in November. "Do you think there will be snow in Vancouver for an engagement session soon?" little did I know there would be this incredibly gorgeous woman from Texas was on the other line of the call. With excitement for snow - I assured her that there would be snow in Whistler. As it had been beautiful last year for the weddings we photographed.

Our session rolls around and I'm scrambling checking mountain cams, highway cams - and all the snow that came down in Whistler Village had melted prior to our scheduled date.

I was calling local hotels to ask the conditions, and hearing a lot of:

nothing.

And much like a Canucks fan in the playoffs...

I was pressing the panic button...

pressed now...

Insert going off the beaten path to find snow in the mountains. Wow amazing. These two were such troopers. It was -12 degrees Celsius. It was COLD. Soraya was a trooper! Not only is she incredibly gorgeous she was ready for the change of plans as was Joel. We planned a quick adventure and they both were excited for the journey. With an amazing touch of winter sun - it is how I dream of snow in Winter. Mind you, it's not always like that. We lucked out.

These two met as teenagers back in Texas and reconnected years later after Joel moved to Vancouver - they knew they had something special. Fast forward to an amazing proposal in Paris - c'est romantique! Congratulations Soraya & Joel - we loved adventuring with you both and wish you two the very best for your up coming wedding!

The word 'romance,' according to the dictionary, means excitement, adventure, and something extremely real.
